The first time after two years marked by Covid-19 pandemic, the Easter was celebrated in Vatican in the presence of a great number of believers arriving worldwide. Good Friday and Holly Saturday were celebrated through the holly masses in the Papal Basilica of St. Peter. The altar was traditionally, as for decades, decorated with flowers from the Netherlands.
The Pope gave his traditional speech Urbi et orbi (“to the city and to the world”) from the central loggia of St. Peter’s Basilica. In the presences of estimated more than 60.000 people the Pope gave his benediction and called for piece worldwide in his homily. (photo S.A)
