On 26 May, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Dušan Kozarev, met with the Undersecretary for States and International Organizations of the Secretariat of State of the Holy See, Mihaita Blaj.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Serbia to the Holy See, Dr. Sima Avramović, Deputy Secretary General Nebojša Radojičić, and Minister-Counselor Marko Rakić.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of global and regional topics, including the various aspects of the current situation in the Western Balkans. At the same time, they noted the high level of bilateral relations between the two sides and full agreement regarding respect for the principles of international law and the UN Charter, as well as the protection of the Christian heritage. In this regard, GS Kozarev expressed his appreciation for the Vatican's support for the territorial sovereignty and integrity of the Republic of Serbia, as well as for understanding regarding the need to preserve the Orthodox religious and cultural heritage in Kosovo and Metohija.
