On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the ten member states accession to the EU (the Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia) the Holly Mass in the Church of St. Thomas of Villanova was presided over by H.E. Archbishop Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organisations within the Holy See. Following the event members of the Diplomatic Corps accredited to the Holly See visited the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo alongside Lake Albano, famed as summer residence of the popes. Since October 2016 Pope Francis decided to open the buildings as a public museum.
